Associate Professor Manchima Makornwattana is the Chief of the Glaucoma Unit at Thammasat University Hospital, Director of the Clinical Glaucoma Fellowship Training Program, Vice Director of the Ophthalmology Residency Training Program and the Vice Director for Academic and International Affairs at the Department of Ophthalmology, Thammasat University Faculty of Medicine.

She graduated from Chulalongkorn University in 1995 and completed her Ophthalmology Residency training at the same institution in 2001, where she also served as a Chief Resident. She completed her Clinical Glaucoma Fellowship and Glaucoma Research Fellowship at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary in 2004.

Her research interests include angle closure glaucoma, factors related to intraocular pressure, surgical techniques, and advanced technology in glaucoma diagnosis and surgery. She is regularly invited to speak at scientific conferences in Thailand and many other countries and has published a book on glaucoma to raise public awareness and prevent glaucoma blindness.
