Warakorn Thiamthat, MD is a pediatric ophthalmologist and strabismus specialist, and Head of the Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus Unit at Rajavithi Hospital, Bangkok, Thailand. He obtained his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Faculty of Medicine, Srinakharinwirot University, and completed ophthalmology residency training at Rajavithi Hospital, followed by fellowship training in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus. He has more than 15 years of clinical experience in pediatric and adult cataract surgery, myopia slow progression, and childhood glaucoma. Dr. Warakorn serves as Vice President for Academic Affairs of the Clinical optic and Refraction Ophthalmologist Society of Thailand, and as Chair of the Myopia Subcommittee and the Myopia Awareness Program under the Society. He is also actively involved in pediatric glaucoma consultation services at the Queen Sirikit National Institute of Child Health. His academic interests include pediatric cataract, pediatric glaucoma, strabismus associated with thyroid eye disease, myopia control strategies, and cataract simulator–based training for ophthalmology residents.
