(S4) SURVIVING POSTERIOR CAPSULE RUPTURE

This symposium equips cataract surgeons with a practical, step-by-step framework to recognise early warning signs of posterior capsule rupture (PCR), make timely intraoperative decisions, and prevent escalation of complications. Participants will learn how non-retina surgeons can safely manage the lens during PCR, restore visual outcomes after the event, and make informed intraocular lens (IOL) choices for the fellow eye. The symposium concludes with an expert panel discussion synthesising real-world strategies to enhance confidence, safety, and surgical outcomes when facing this challenging scenario.
