Tae-Im KIM

Tae-im Kim is a Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at Yonsei University and serves as Director of the Corneal Dystrophy Research Institute. She is an internationally recognized expert in cataract and refractive surgery, with a distinguished career spanning advanced clinical care, basic and translational research, and the development and evaluation of innovative ophthalmic devices.

She currently serves as Secretary General of the Korean Ophthalmological Society and has held multiple executive and directorial roles in national academic societies, contributing substantially to academic leadership, professional education, and policy development within the field of ophthalmology.

Professor Kim has authored over 250 peer-reviewed international publications and has served as an editor and editorial board member for several leading ophthalmology journals. Her clinical expertise focuses on the management of complex cataract and refractive surgery cases, particularly in patients with pre-existing ocular conditions and surgical challenges.

Her primary research interests include the development of novel pharmaceutical therapies for dry eye disease, advanced ocular and corneal therapeutics, and the innovation of ophthalmic devices, with a strong emphasis on the translation of research discoveries into clinical practice..
