Dr Naren Shetty is head of the department of cataract and refractive surgery, Director at Narayana Nethralaya. He was awarded a PhD from Maastricht University for his work on ‘Analyzing Optical Performance of Natural and Intraocular Lenses in Asian Indian Eyes’ in January 2025. He has contributed to more than 44 publications in peer-reviewed journals nationally and internationally. He has been a part of over 20 clinical trials during his career at Narayana Nethralaya. He has performed over 28,000 cataract refractive surgeries. He has also demonstrated multiple surgical techniques live in academic conferences. He has delivered over 164 national and international talks.
