Dr. Ishtiaque Anwar is a fellowship-trained cataract and refractive surgeon.

He did his postgraduate degree FCPS at Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons. His cataract and refractive surgery fellowship was at Iladevi Cataract & IOL Center, India, where he had the opportunity to work under Dr. Abhay Vasavada, one of the pioneers in this field.

His interests include the use of new technologies in ophthalmology, education, and community outreach programs. He has special interest in teaching. He is the trainer of phacoemulsification at Bangladesh Eye Trust Hospital, a non-profit sister concern of Bangladesh Eye Hospital. He routinely performs phacoemulsification, glaucoma surgery, and LASIK, but his special interest is in managing complex cataract and glaucoma cases.
